Firstly the Foundation would like to express thanks to Jane and Richard Cooper, Jane and Richard have been working tirelessly for a number of years maintaining the services at Roses Sports Ground helping provide sporting opportunity, health support programmes, education and safe place to congregate to mention a few. Jane has decided to take a well-earned retirement and Richard is fortunately staying with the foundation to focus on the Adult education we provide.
As a result of recent events and job changes this left an opportunity for a new manager to take the helm at Roses Sports Ground. This post as been filled by Gary Precious, Gary brings with him an abundance of experience and knowledge.
Gary has run a very successful facility of the same stature for over 12 years prior to this, developing a confident and vibrant team that worked under him and increasing the community links to the facility.
All of this whilst also developing a sound financial platform for the facility to invest in not only the facility but the community aspects too. He has both the hospitality and sport background to fully understand the opportunities that lie ahead and how to move the whole facility on to the next level.
With these qualities and experience Gary is perfectly suited to drive the already successful foundation on. He will maintain and oversee the full cost provision onsite and in schools along with the funded programmes we deliver which include;
Children in Need – Free sports session for 120 SEND children to encourage social interaction and further integration in sporting clubs.
National Lottery – Youth Futures Fund – Enables the foundation to supply free youth clubs, football sessions and educational support to children aged 12-18 years
Night Light Café – NHS funded warm space twice a week for people to attend and have a coffee and chat.
Adult Education – LCC funded education programme aimed at 19+ to help people engage in different subject areas that include Wellbeing, Family Learning and Employment related programmes.
The immediate focus is to bring the community together and increase the usage of the facility. Numerous works are happening to prepare for this busy period. All existing clubs are being met to canvas for future plans. New drink promotions, menu’s and hospitality packages are being prepared.
All leads to an exciting time at the foundation, please come down and show your support.
